What is a Service in Viaesys?
A Service is a standardized type of work that your organization performs and tracks within Viaesys. Services define the activities that can be scheduled, estimated, quoted, completed, and billed for customers.
Each service contains its own configuration, including pricing, production rates, materials, equipment requirements, checklists, and job settings. Once created, services can be added to estimates, contracts, work orders, and recurring maintenance schedules.

Why Use Services?
Services help ensure consistency across your organization by:
Standardizing how work is estimated and performed.
Defining labor, material, and equipment requirements.
Establishing production rates and pricing.
Providing crews with job-specific instructions and checklists.
Supporting accurate scheduling, tracking, and billing.
To configure a service go to “Services & Items” and go to “Services”
To add a new Service hit “+ADD”.
The following sections can be configured when adding a new Service:
General - Includes basic information like name, type, etc.
Billing - Includes information on for Billing the service
Production Rate - associated with calculating how much labor/material is required to carry out the service
Proposal Description - Used when generating proposals to be sent to clients
Quantity Options -
Audio Service Trigger -
Materials - Associated Material to be used when carrying out the service
Equipment - Associated Equipment to be used when carrying out the service.

Note: For a service to be active, you just need to fill out basic details in the “General” section.
Adding a Service: Basic Configuration
Click + ADD. Add the Name of the Service. For e.g. “Plow”.
Add the Service Type (You can configure service types by Navigating to “Services & Items” and go to “Service types. Service Types only need a Name and status to be set to “Enabled”)
3. Make sure the “Status” is set to Enabled for the service to be active. You can also add a “Tag”.
Notes: Tags, Service types and Status can also be used to filter out Services.
Advanced Configurations
If your organization uses Job codes, you can select a job code to be associated with a certain service. Job codes are used to associate specialized rates for certain users.
If a job code is associated with a service, any job that is completed as part of that service will be paid using the rates defined in the Job code.
