Before You Start
Required Items
Viaesys GPS unit
SIM card (included)
Wiring harness
InstallTrack mobile app
Basic installation tools
3-amp inline fuse (recommended)
Mobile device (iOS or Android)
Step 1 — Install InstallTrack App
All Viaesys GPS installations require the InstallTrack app.
Download InstallTrack from:
Apple App Store
Google Play Store
Allow required permissions
Log in using the credentials provided
⚠️ Installers working for multiple customers need separate logins per client account.
The app is used to:
Claim the device to the correct customer account
Upload installation photos
Run diagnostics
Verify GPS and cellular connectivity
Step 2 — Insert SIM Card
Locate the SIM card slot on the GPS unit.
Insert the SIM card according to the orientation marking.
Secure the SIM holder.
Step 3 — Start Installation in App
Open InstallTrack
Tap New Install
Select:
Dashcam / GPS
Step 4 — Scan Device Information
You must scan both:
IMEI Number
Scan barcode on device
Verify number matches label
SIM Card Number
Scan SIM card barcode
Confirm number is correct
This step associates the device with the correct account.
Step 5 — Wiring Connections
Most installations use Ignition + Power + Ground.
Wire Colors
Black → Ground
Orange → Ignition
Red → Power (Battery)
Standard Installation (Recommended)
Orange → Ignition
Red → Constant Power
Black → Ground
This allows:
Tracking when vehicle is off (park mode)
Lower ping rate when parked
Normal operation when ignition is on
Ignition Only Installation (No Tracking When Off)
If you do NOT want tracking when ignition is off:
Orange → Ignition
Red → Ignition
Black → Ground
Power Only Installation (No Ignition Available)
If ignition connection is unavailable:
Orange → Power
Red → Power
Black → Ground
⚠️ Important:
Notify Viaesys support so ignition detection can be configured via motion sensing.
Fuse Recommendation
Although the device has an internal fuse:
Install a 3-amp inline fuse on power and ignition lines for safety.
Step 6 — Enter Installation Details in App
The app will ask:
Power type (Ignition + Power or Power Only)
Vehicle name (example: Truck 2)
Master shutoff present (Yes/No)
The vehicle name helps identify the unit later in the portal.
Step 7 — Mount the GPS Unit
Placement Guidelines
The unit must:
Have clear sky view
Be mounted right side up
Be protected from water and heat
Be secured firmly with adhesive or mount
Acceptable Locations
Under dashboard (plastic panels)
Inside cab
Under hood (away from engine heat)
Not Recommended
Directly near engine
Fully enclosed metal areas
Upside down installation
The unit is not waterproof.
Step 8 — Upload Installation Photos
InstallTrack requires:
Photo of power wiring connections
Photo showing unit placement
Photo of vehicle
These photos provide installation verification and support diagnostics.
Step 9 — Power the Device
After wiring:
Connect power
Confirm indicator lights turn on
Leave device powered for 15–20 minutes
This allows the device to:
Connect to cellular network
Acquire GPS signal
Upload configuration to servers
You can perform this step before final mounting if desired.
Step 10 — Submit Installation
Complete all required fields
Add optional notes if needed
Tap Submit
Step 11 — Verify Installation Status
After submission:
Open Install Section in the app
Refresh the installation record
You should see:
✅ Cellular Check — Pass
✅ GPS Check — Pass
If GPS fails indoors, move the vehicle outside and refresh again.
What a Successful Installation Looks Like
Both indicators should show Pass:
Cellular Connectivity
GPS Fix
You can tap the installation record to review details.

Once tests pass:
Secure wiring with zip ties
